Loading ...Noida: A labour, Rajkumar, has been sent to jail; thanks to the pain in his tooth. He had visited a private hospital on Saturday to get his tooth extracted. On Sunday, the hospital administration have sent him to jail on charges of false information and non- payment of dues.
Rajkumar is perplexed over the issue.”My tooth was paining so I wanted to get it extracted. I went to the hospital as one of my friends told me that this hospital treats the poor people for free. I was told by the doctor that my case is very complex and will need a surgery, but they will do it for free. So I agreed happily. Surgery was really complex. They had to remove tooth via my stomach. But now they are asking for Rs 1 Lakh as the surgery fees. I can’t pay that, so they sent me to jail. This is cheating.”

Hospital administration has totally rejected the allegations made by Rajkumar.”We have not cheated him. He is the one who is a cheater. He had filled the form that he wanted to donate his kidney to one of our patients who is in need of one. He said that he was perfectly fit man. You can see his thumb impression on the form.
We decided to do the kidney operation first. But when we started the operation to get kidney, we found out that he had only one kidney. So operation failed. In anger doctor punched him and tooth that he wanted to remove, got out itself. On inquiry it was found that 2 years back he had come to our hospital for other tooth extraction. There the kidney was already stolen donated. But he should have declared that already one tooth has been extracted in this hospital only. We could have known it. Doctor specially came for this kidney operation from Mumbai. Now, Rajkumar will have to bear the cost of failed surgery and doctor’s fees too.”, Said hospital officials.
Rajkumar is still not able to understand the issue. As he is not able to pay hospital dues, he may have to remain in jail for 5 to 6 months if hospital authorities go ahead with the charges. However authorities have agreed to drop charges against him if he could refer couple of his friends to this hospital; a move which he believes shows hospital’s kindness and desire to treat poor people. Currently none of his friends is having a tooth problem so he is not able to refer any. Please let us know if any of your friends needs free treatment, we can forward the case to hospital as Rajkumar’s reference. This may get poor guy out of jail.
