Ajmal Kasab, lone survivor of Mumbai attackers, has filed a request in the Supreme Court to send him to Pakistan jail, which Indian court has accepted. It is expected to take three months for the legal formalities to complete, after which Kasab will be shifted to a jail in northwest Pakistan.

Kasab to be transferred to Pak jail

“Kasab is in Indian jail for past three years. Everyone expects the capital punishment but we know how long will it take for the final decision to come. There are all the chances that by the time final verdict will be announced, he would pass by natural death. All the points that India wanted to prove to the world have been proved. So we have filed a request in the court to send him to Pak jail” Said Kasab’s lawyer.

As per the petition filed by Kasab, he has a case pending in Pakistan court of pick-pocketing. And international rules state that individual has to be tried in the country where he commits his first crime. To prove the point, example of Abu Salem has been given; who was sent to India after being captured in Portugal.

On being asked about how come suddenly this idea came to his mind, Kasab replied “More than Indian system, I believe Pakistani system is better for us. India keeps in jail for all the time but does not decide about the verdict. In Pakistan, first you will not be put behind the bars. If due to some international pressure you have to be sent to jail; no problem, our Taliban brothers will break the jail and make us free. This is what just happened a couple of days back when 400 prisoners were rescued”.

Although India understands that the plan is to use the jail breaking again to get free, but they feel much happier than Kasab in sending him to Pakistan. “Maintaining him in jail has been a costly affair. Money spent on him is much more than what insurance agencies had to pay to the victims of 26/11. With this money even Malya’s airlines could have been saved. And as far as risk of him coming back is concerned, it is not possible. With all the media hype he is a big celebrity now. Every Indian recognizes him. So he can’t come back or he will be caught immediately.”

Surprisingly though, Pakistan seems to be nervous about the development. In a country, where political environment is unstable, parties fear that on returning Kasab may form his own party and will surely win the election with anti – India sentiment.

With the confirmation of his returning to Pakistan, Kasab was happy but looking a bit sad also.”Feeling of going home and being free is great but I will surely miss India. I killed people. Still I have been getting such a VIP treatment. Specially made AC cell, which many high rank Pak officials also don’t have. Such a delicious food made for me only. So many security men around me that even our Prime Minister doesn’t have. I am surely going to miss all this ”.
